2014. what a roller coaster of a year. high highs with some low lows. a year of massive change. a year of growth. adventures. refinement. new friends. progress. a lot made 2014 what it was. i went through more cameras than i would’ve imagined and ended the year with only 1 camera that i started the year with (a polaroid camera). i found a love in the roots of photography with film. i found a refinement of my style. i found clients that i loved working with. my business grew from 3 weddings in 2013 to 12 in 2014 while working on a wide variety of other projects including events, fashion/lifestyle, advertising, a bunch of personal work, and landscapes. i was able to participate in help portrait to provide family portraits to families who couldn’t afford them. i got to work as a graphic designer on projects for nike and reebok and work on consultation for red bull projects. i also shot some projects for krochet kids intl. basically, the year blew my expectations from a work standpoint. i had dream clients that were or became great friends and witnessed my work take off like i could not have imagined.
that being said, in a few ways, 2014 left much to be desired. 2015 will remedy that while continuing with 2014’s positives. i have a clearer vision of where i want to go with my career and how to get there. i have personal work that makes me jump for joy. i have clients that are mindblowingly amazing. i have more travel planned for the year than i’ve had my entire life. i’ll be hitting the west coast, four corner states, east coast, iceland, and the uk as of right now. i am releasing details very soon about a new project that will be happening in march and other projects will be on the way as well. i am taking risks. i believe that 2015 will not just bring about a furthering in my career, but growth in my art, development of my character, and one of the most memorable years of my life. i cannot wait to share 2015 with you all, but until then, thank you all for making 2014 the success it was and to everyone that i worked with in 2014 – you all are amazing and i could not have asked for better people to work alongside through the year. you made it amazing and none of it would have been possible without you.
here’s to 2015.
and with that, ending the year with a road to mark the travel and adventure that lies ahead.
